Last Gift Query

I am trying to create a lapsed donor query and have had a problem including soft-credits in it.

When I do my query, my input is last gift = 10/1/2012 - 10/31/2013. This  gives me donors whose last gift was a hard credit, it doesn't include soft-credits.

I then went into options and put in soft-credit to recipients in the grid but the query does not process any numbers and tries to work for over 30 minutes before it crashes.

Has anyone tried doing something similar to this? 

My problem is I'm not getting all the donors I want to get and may be sending a lapsed donor letter to donors who are current donors.

Have you tried "recognition credits\\revenue application\\revenue details\\date" field for the date? This would include any soft and hard credit

 Why are you not using the LYBUNT or SYBUNT report and creating the query for your mailing through that?

 Those reports fall under Analytical Reports.  They will let you search by date and include soft credits.  Works like a charm.
