anonymous donors

i am a new user and i have coded a new donor anonymous but I have some that have given gifts and they come up on reports as anonymous. How can I find out who they are?

Teresa, Since you're new, here's a little info you may or may not know.

 There are two ways to have mark a gift/donor as anonymous. Marking the donor as "gives anonymously" on the Bio 1 tab. Or on the gift record, Misc tab - "gift is anonymous".

If I have an anonymous gift, I mark it on gift record. I have yet to run into a donor who is anonymous for every gift they have made to our org. If I marked it on the bio 1 tab, every gift they made/make would report as anonymous.

If you have a constituent record named "Anonymous" without any other info on gift record, don't know that you'll be able to track who donor actually was.

Automatically marking each gift as anonymous : Mark the Gives anonymously checkbox on the Bio 1 tab or Org 1 tab of the constituent record and select File, Save from the menu bar to save the changeBB55748  --------------- If that doesn't help, I would use output query from the report, run query with output of name field.

We can view Anonymous donors in reports by editing our Report options.

   Select Tools> User Options
   
   
2. 
   
   Select Reports tab
   
   
3. 
   
   In the left frame, highligh Gift Preferences.
   
   
4. 
   
   In the right frame, mark Include anonymous gifts and select the appropriate option.
