Multiple Solicitors on a Gift

Options
Our organization is looking at how to track multiple solicitors of a single gift/pledge. Often these can get quite complex with, for example, a $2M gift credited as follows: $2M to President's Office, $1.5M to Faculty A solicitor, $500,000 to Faculty B solicitor. Obviously, they do not add up to 100% of the gift in all cases. Has any organization had success in using the gift tab solicitors tracking for this purpose? If so, what processes did you put in place to make this work? Were there any pitfalls you ran across in implementing this?

You can sure record multile solicitors for a gift and specify amounts even if they don't add up to gift.  One place for sure where you will run into inflated totals is if you utilize solicitor analysis reports or do any reporting by amounts raised per solicitor.   It shouldn't affect reports on the fund totals.

I do not use multiple solicitors or especially double crediting same $s as we use the solicitor analysis report a lot and we do not want $ double counted.
