Pay-Other in the Raiser's Edge

Good Morning! I'm curious if your organization uses the gift type, pay-other. If so, are you integrated with The Financial Edge? My organization would like to use the gift type to record pledge payments made via SGO's. Our Business Office is against us using the gift type because of how it comes across in The Financial Edge. We are integrated with FE.  We don't use it - I know there are differences in how it works with FE but never looked into what. 

Other options you could consider are gift sub-type which can be directly linked to specific GL.  Field can be queried on.  We have a table of gift sub-types and use it for variety of purposes. Some linked to GL accounts, others not.   If you just need reports from RE for the payments you could also use Gift Code. 

Just a couple of options business office might be willing to consider. [:)]

we use pay-other and are intregrated with FE and don't have any problems.
