Raiser's Edge and Office 365?

Options

We are i the midst of some forward planning and our IT team are proposing a move to Office 365. When I inquired of BB Support what the issue might be I was told that Office 365 is not certified with RE and they could offer no support. I have asked for some more details about plans but have not had any feedback yet. Has anyone else tackled this yet?

I did find a post with this same question from about a year ago and I am hopeful that something has changed since then.

Hi Robert, unfortunately The Raiser's Edge is not supported with Office 365, and there is currently no timeline for a compatible release. You can subscribe to this Knowledgebase solution to be updated as more information is available: www.blackbaud.com/kb/index?page=content&id=BB746345. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello We currently use Office 365 and Raisers Edge and do not have any issues. I think the key is to continue to use local Outlook products on your pcs. There are two ways to access your mail - directly from the cloud or continue to use Outlook as you do today but connect the Office 365 account to Outlook. My staff are still able to use their add-ins for Raisers Edge while we are on Office 365. We have been using Office 365 since June of 2013. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for the feedback. This makes sense that if Office was running on the desktop as opposed tot he cloud there should be no issue. Further to this I am assuming that you were using Office 2010 and not 2013 because BB has only just last week released a patch that certifies Office 2013?

    Anne,

Could you give me any details on your PC setup to enable the add-ins. I also have contacted BB Support and have received no help from their end. They say it is not possible. I can access an older version of Outlook from within Raiser's Edge but I cannot connect through Outlook that is running on my PC.  We are Hosted. Thanks!
