Hello,

I was wondering how do other organizations enter in United Way gifts when only the donor name is provided.  No address or other information is provided and the check from UW is not the same amount the donor has given.

Did you search the forums on "united way" before asking this as there have been many discussions on UW gifts that you should read and become familiar with. The basics:

• The gift is from United way - they get hard credit for the amount they sent you (after fees removed)
• The original donor has already been receipted by UW and should not get a receipt but if you had an address you could have still thanked them. You can also soft credit them OR enter an "other gift" on their record for the full amount they gave UW (before fees were removed). If you have no address I have been known to create their record with the address of the United Way and then marking it do not send mail.
