excluding soft credits in query's

I am in the middle of pulling a list for our spring mailout and have been instructed to not include any donors who have soft credit's attached to their record but I can't see a way to do this - Is there a way exclude soft credit gifts in a query?  thanks for any help anyone can give!:)

What are you pulling for your list?  What is your criteria?   If you are pulling constituents with gifts it does not pull SC unless you add that criteria. 

Are you saying that you don't want Robert Hernandez who has given 20 personal gifts this year and is SC'ed with one gift from his company on his record to be pulled?  That seems wrong.  He's a "donor with a SC."

To set your SC options in a query you go to Tools - Query Options - Gift Processing.

I am not sure what your spring mailout is or how you use Soft Credits but we in fact solicit the soft credit recipients and NOT the hard credit recipients as it is most often the SC recipient initiating the gift.
