Track Solicitors on Opportunities

You can now track solicitors on separate opportunities on a plan. You can this on the new Solicitors tab on an Opportunity page.

 

Clicking this loads the solicitors for that opportunity. By default, all plan solicitors are associated with an opportunity. Clicking the Edit button allows for the selection of opportunity-specific solicitors from the plan.

 

 

 

Why do you want this feature? What problem does it solve?

By default, all fundraisers associated with a major giving plan are credited for all revenue raised for every opportunity on the plan. With the addition of this feature, you can now credit individual fundraisers for only the opportunities of which they were a part. This allows you to track the revenue individual fundraisers generate in greater detail.

 

What are the known issues?

The ability to assign a dollar value to the solicitor is currently not part of this new functionality. For example, if two fundraisers are on an opportunity for $100,000, Solicitor 1 should get $70,000 and Solicitor 2 should get $30,000. The total credit may be equally divided, so both get $100,000. We will consider this in a future phase of development.

 

What changes do you need to make to best utilize this feature?

No changes other than understanding the Solicitors tab appears on the Opportunity page and all plan solicitors automatically default to the opportunity.

TIP: If you have a structured workflow that separately tracks solicitors on opportunities, you can now do this in Blackbaud CRM.
