  • This feature is expected for release in version 4.0.

We have created a new query view that allows administrators to see the number of active users on the system. The Active Users query can include the following information.

    • Activity date
    • Earliest session activity
    • Latest session activity
    • Attributes

    query.jpg

    Why are we doing this?

This query view allows administrators to determine peak usage dates and times, average session lengths, and the frequency with which users are online.

    How does it work?

The system assumes that 20 minutes of inactivity represent an abandoned session.

What else should I know about this?

We recommend that you make sure this query view is secured to administrators only.

This feature is not intended as an instrumentation tool, so it does not include data about which pages get the most activity.

This feature released in version 4.0. For more information, refer to Save As Option for Query.

A new Save as option is available when you create and edit queries on the Ad-hoc Query screen in AnalysisThis allows you to change existing queries and save them as new queries. Previously, you copied queries to create new versions of them. This enhancement reduces the number of steps to update existing queries so you can work more efficiently.

Note: The new queries include all the permissions and other properties from the original queries.

  • This feature is expected for release in version 4.0.

The Queries and KPIs sections are moving to the new information library. Watch an overview video.

The functionality of queries and KPIs will be unchanged, but the information library will offer features to better organize and navigate your queries and KPIs.

    • View Options: The new left-side pane will allow you to view queries by folder, category, owner, or record type, and to view KPIs by folder, type, or record type.
    • List Updates: The list of queries or KPIs will be easier to navigate so you can quickly search for a query or KPI, use filters on each column, and select the columns to see. You will also be able to select which columns to display, including new columns such as Last run by, Last run duration, Last run on, and Last run result count.
    • Folders: The information library will still allow you to organize your queries or KPIs by folders, and you will now be able to move multiple queries or KPIs into folders at one time.
    • Favorites: You will be able to easily mark queries and KPIs as favorites right from the list.
    • Categories: You will be able to organize queries by category and move multiple queries into a category at one time.

This feature released in version 4.0. For more information, refer to Date Criteria Operators

In Analysis, on the Ad-hoc Query screen, the criteria operators that appear when you add date fields as filters now include updated labels.

    friendly_date_criteria_operators.png

The new terminology is easier to associate with date information than the labels that appear for other types of fields. For example, the previous "Less than" operator is now "Before" for date fields. This enhancement reduces confusion when you select date field criteria so you can work more efficiently.

Note: Existing queries do not require changes and automatically include the new labels.

The table below compares the previous operator labels to the new labels. For a complete lis of date field criteria operators, refer to the Query and Export Guide

This feature released in version 4.0. For more information, refer to Rolling Date Filter Option.

When you use the "Constituents (from the Blackbaud Data Warehouse)" source view to create an ad-hoc query, a new rolling date option is available for date field filter criteria. A rolling date is a date range, relative to the current date, that either occurred in the past or will occur in the future. For example, you can now create a query to search for constituent records that were added three days ago, or memberships that will expire three months from today.

     rolling_date_periods.png

You can specify rolling date ranges in day, week, month, quarter, year, and fiscal years when you use the following date criteria operators:

    • Is
    • Is not
    • Before
    • After
    • On or before
    • On or after
    • Between
    • Not between

Note: To use fiscal year ranges, you must configure fiscal years in Administration.

Previously, you could only use pre-defined date filters such as yesterday, last week, tomorrow, or next week. This enhancement eliminates the need for you to manually change queries when the range is the only filter to update.

Note: The "Rolling date" option is also available when you create custom query views with Blackbaud CRM SDK.
