The documentation says this, but it bears repeating: set up a developer account and a tester account in Facebook. Use the developer account for configuring the account but do not use it to test things like removing the application, etc. The reason is this: that account is tied to the Permanent Session Key you generate and removing the application from the developer account will negate your Permanent Session Key. If this happens, things like the fb_ref_page can not be updated.
