Donations API - Reporting on Email activity

Hello API-ers,

We have a client who has presented the following scenario and questions:

"We have sent out several email appeals from different campaigns, linking to this holiday site. We are having trouble reporting on the performance of these campaigns; Donations By Email Message reports are empty or incomplete, and when reviewing the deliveries, we find that the Recipient Actions are frequently zero. In one case, the Forwarded Actions are 7 and the Recipient Actions are 2. Is the API-based donation flow affecting our ability to report on these messages? Since source codes were not used, is there any way we can determine the performance of the individual emails? Should changes be made to the API forms themselves to assist in tracking?"

Any ideas for them?
