I finally got to use my fireplace here in Texas and that means End of Year Fundraising is in full swing! This is such an exciting time of year. But also a very busy time for your organization. Hang in there! With the hustle and bustle, don’t forget some important tasks that can make your EOY campaign go smoothly and have the best possible results.

  1. Update CONS360. Add any new names now so that they can receive the Welcome Series and be prepped to make their year-end gift.
  2. Have a homepage strategy. Make sure your whole homepage is devoted to giving during the month of December.
  3. Take advantage of the moment! Beef up your EOY autoresponder with a sincere and heartfelt “thanks” and an additional call to action like tweeting about your campaign, watching a video on youtube or liking you on Facebook. But only include one additional call to action in the TY.
  4. Draft your social media posts in advance. Collect images and videos now. Know exactly what to say and on what day so you only have to copy and paste.
    1. Use ClicktoTweet in your blog posts and website to integrate your theme. It’s a free tool that allows you to embed pre-written tweets in your communications.
    2. Prep the receptionist and other co-workers to direct questions about online giving or technical help to the correct development or communications person.
    3. Rally the troops! Don’t forget to ask staff to update their Outlook signature lines to include a call to action and link to your donation page.
    4. Check out the EOY Community Resource Page to make sure you have all bases covered.  http://customer.convio.com/eoy2013
