Recently our organization discovered the mobile event app.  There are many limitations to this app and when I was led to the "Ideas" page specific to the Event Mobile App (https://community.blackbaud.com/products/raisersedge7/ideas) I noticed that nothing about it has been updated or event worked on for 2 years.  There are other users who have added ideas and I have voted for those items that I agree with but, with no progress shown on any of the items in 2 years, are these ideas and votes really reaching anyone?  The last update I see on anything about this application is from August 2014.  Even the links on it's featured page don't lead to anything new and the webinar link simply takes you back to the home page. (https://www.blackbaud.com/fundraising-crm/raisers-edge/mobile-event-app)


Is this a dead application that we are just now discovering?  It would be sad if it was.

    What? Blackbaud hasn't updated something for literally years? Say it ain't so! :P


    In all seriousness, I would guess that their production staff has been focused entirely on NXT. Hopefully we'll see some major updates to mobile apps in the next year, but I wouldn't hold my breath. And I agree - the Events app is seemingly useful but in reality it is frustraing to work with, especially if you have a very large database (like mine) that it's trying to actively search through whenever I'm looking up a registrant.

    I can assure you both that Idea Bank is alive and your additions, votes, and comments are greatly appreciated. I recently took over Product Management responsibilities for Raiser's Edge and I have been working with my team on figuring out the best way to clean up the contents and provide open feedback on many of the items. The first step was the conversion from our old system to our new one which was performed a couple of weeks ago. The good news is that that was relatively uneventful. Figuring out the best way to merge, remove, and update the massive list of ideas is proving to be a little more difficult, but we are making progress on the plans! I share your concerns with the current state of things. I doubt it pains anyone as much as me. :) 


    Nicole, I wanted to thank you actually for your recent comments and references on similar or duplicate ideas as you have been a huge asset in helping to consolidate and merge many of the ideas. I want to be clear that this should not be your job at all, but it does help! Thank you.


    Stick with me and keep using it and I'll do what I can to provide updates on the plans to clean it up and use it actively.

    Jarod, is there a preferred way for us to let you know when we come across duplicate ideas?  If a simple enough process, there are many of us who would be happy to help!  We all know how daunting a task duplicate search-and-merge can be, albeit with different information.  =)

    Thanks Jarod -- although, I would love for it to be my job. As you can tell, I would merge them all myself if I had the background rights to do so. I like to keep everything nice and orderly. cheeky

    We really need to be able to notify our Fundraisers when a person arrives at an event via text message. Our events team has been using zkipster which behaves alot like the RE Events App and provides us the ability to text message our team.  PLEASE look into adding this additional feature.
