Deleting constituent attributes

Options
I accidentally ran a Global Add Constituent Attributes yesterday with include set to "all records" rather than my "selected records" query.  I cancelled it but not until 21,558 wrong records had been updated.  I obviously need to clear them off, We have a query that has identified the constituents involved but I'm told RE won't let you do a Global Delete using a constituent query.  Any clues as to how to safely clean this mess up?  I did look at the table ConstituentAttributes but it's obviously only a link table so will need to dig deeper down that route.  I'm pretty new to RE so haven't come across this before

Thanks

  • It's fairly easy...just not intuitive.  What you want to do is to use Global Change rather than Global Delete.  Select your Query under the [Include] button (where I have it set to All Participants in the screenshot below).  Then look for the Attribute field in the Attributes tree (the screenshot is looking at Participant Records, but it should be identical for Constituent Attributes).  Under Operation, you can Add or Delete an Attribute from here.  If this isn't making sense, feel free to contact me directly and I'll try to clarify.  Also, if you aren't feeling confident, edit your Query to just one or two records, confirm that this does what you need it to do, and then run on all affected records.
