Creating a Policies and Procedures Manual

Options

Good Day,

I am starting down the road of creating a Policy and Procedure manual for my organization.  I have a few examples, but I was wondering if anyone had one that might include Raiser's Edge, RE/LO integration, Luminate, Team Raiser and BBMS?

If you have one you'd be willing to share it, please let me know.

Thanks!

  • Brian, that is a Procedure I will be working as well once we begin the process of integrating RE/LO. I will be in the look out for one as well.

  • G'morning! I need directions from someone like you, because I would like to create a Policies and Procedures Manual for our organization as well. HELPPPPPPPP!
  • Maybe enough people will say that they are creating one, and people will start posting their manuals.  Maybe.

  • It would be awesome to see what others have done.  I have bits and pieces but no where near the whole.

Unfortunately - the information that folks had previously shared in the old RE forum is not available in the Resource Library here - but I did find a link to this post from Michelle Paulk from Lincoln Community Foundation -

I have many of our procedures for RE on box.com:  https://app.box.com/s/d7xs0ptuijh131hjromq.  Please feel free to copy and steal anything that is useful to you.  Thanks,  Michelle

Candace, a wonderful resource! Thank you! In reviewing Bill Connor's slideshow handout, I have concluded that it would be useful to include two folders -- one for a customized Policies and Procedures manual, and a second with links or downloads of the most useful BlackBaud User's guides. Connors is right that it makes no sense to re-create BB's user guides, but having those user guides handy in the same location alongside the P&P manual seems like a good idea.

  • Hi Friends, I tried to go to the shared Box and view the docs, but I am getting error messages telling me they are corrupted or cannot be opened. Was anyone else able to open, view or download them?

Thank you for sharing. I'm currently in the process of finishing one. Once it's approved I'll post it here.

Thank you Candace for providing such great resources. Definitely helps when needing to create a manual and not quite where to start. Thank you!

  • I have a Table of Content that links to each policy & procedure.

I found the idea somewhere here in the forum, but can't remember who posted it.

See attached Table of Content and one example for each type. The document can also be linked to the RE Home page for easy reference.

  • Nancy, If you want to message me your email address I can email it to you.

  • A fellow community member Andrea Bertrand shared this one about a year ago and she has a link to a google drive somewhere in the feed here:

However this direct link should work too: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B8XjbxIsWwoVQjdJZEJWTGhiQnc

This is a very comprehensive guide and mine is a work in progress adapted from the templates shes developed. Good luck!
  • I have one for Raiser's Edge that is constantly changing and incomplete but feel free to use anything you find helpful.
  • Hi! I've attached two examples of our procedure SOPs, hopefully you find the format helpful, it was shared with me by another DBA and I love it!
  •

But wow, looking at the other examples makes me feel really behind!

Thank you for the post.  Getting started is the hardest part and the samples from other members of the community are wonderful!

    Hi Sonja,

Thank you so much for a copy of your manual!  Such a great help!  I have to great cracking on mine.  I hope it turns out as nice as yours.

Thank you, Sheila!!  Very helpful.  So many policies and procedures to write, so little time surprise

SAME! I've got bits and pieces of mine written, and it looks nowhere near as majestic as these examples...yet wink

Has anyone create a policies and procedures manual for OnBoard Admission and or Core?

  • I came across this thread while looking for SOPs for RE NXT. There doesn't appear to be any shared on the discussion board; lots of RE SOPs. So, that leads me to wonder the reason why. Is RE NXT so new that folks are still working out SOPs or, is RE NXT being used alongside RE so data input is taking place in RE database, not in RE NXT? Not all staff will have access to the RE database view, so having SOPs for RE NXT will be important for our Foundation.
