Cannot delete incomplete address

I ran a clean-up query to identify "send mail" check box status

Preferred Address = one of. . . Home, Work, Main, Business

AND send Mail To = No

I have a long list of constituents that have an additional address on the record of "Business" with nothing else on the address and I cannot delete it. I've attached a screenshot ot the address record.

Any ideas?

Hi Susan

Unfortunately I don't see your screenshot so I'm not 100% sure if this post will help.

If you see a "business" address on your constituent record that can't be deleted it usually indicates the address was entered on the business button found on the Bio 1 tab. RE will not allow you to delete it until it's no longer associated with that business relationship.

If you see also see other addresses coded "business" and they can be deleted, that's probably due to a user manually entering a new address on the address tab and assigning it the address type of "business"

Stephanie has it right on the nose. Those Address Records (I can see your screenshot) were entered via the Primary Business Relationship. So they can't be deleted unless you uncheck the Primary Business Information box on that Relationship Record or delete the Relationship Link (which you should do if it's in error, but otherwise, you should just uncheck the box).

In my database, if I have a Business Relationship without an Address, I use the Address Type of "Business Blank - No Address Available" and uncheck the Send? box.

Thank you all so much. There was a business relationship on 1150 records to the same name without an address or constituent record attached. I ran a Relationship Query for the name and did a Global Delete to remove the relationship. Perfect.
