Donation Page for a Tribute Garden

Options
My organization has set up a donation page for our Tribute Garden that we have. It includes many different options of items for the donor to be able to purchase like Trees, bricks, tribute wall etc. A lot of these items have similar prices so when the donor lets say chooses a pear tree for $500, but the brick is also $500 it only shows up as a $500 donation. Not showing what they wanted it to be. Is there any way to be made aware of what the donor is selecting when processing the gift? We feel stupid having to call up the donor and say now what did you select...

  • Can you add an attribute to the gift?  First they select their gift amount and then from a pull down menu select the item they are funding?

    - Or to be different -

What about if you created this as an "event" with different items being Price Units?  If my thinking is correct, when you process the gifts in RE, that information pulls over with the registration.  You'd have to tweak the labels on the registration page, so it seems more donation page like, but would that work?

  • We had an similar issue with donors receiving a coaster with their donation. I added a comment box ("allow comments" in the donation form part) and instructed donors to select which coaster they'd like.
  • Can you create a gift attrribute  and then include that on your donation page with the attribute listed in a drop down menu?  We have different funds for each of our areas of donation, so the drop down menu for us shows the different funds but if you have a ton of options that may not be an option.  Another suggestion is to have a front donation page that says I'd like to dontate to: and then have different hyper links to specific pages, one for each area.
