Duplicate constituents being creatted when used "Bulk Processing' through NetCommunity

Options
Hi there,

We recently noticed that there are duplicate constituent records created in the Raiser's Edge when we use "bulk processing" through NetCommunity. We do check the check box "attempt auto-match to an existing record" but it seem to override it and create duplicate constituent in the Raiser's Edge. Anyone had/have this issue with NetCommunity? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Brinda,

If you are seeing duplicates being created, perhaps the constituent matching settings may be too specific. From the NetCommunity plugin you can click the options link in the top right corner and then select constituent matching from the left menu.  Here you can set the criteria for which the plugin will search the Raiser's Edge database.  It is also recommended that the constituent linking be checked before bulk processing transactions.
  • Best practice is to link and/or create new records with each individual record sitting in the plug-in queue.  As you do, you click the checkbox on the left of the record.  Then, when you have 10, 20, 30... of them connected to records, you click Bulk Processing. ***Please be sure to click the Options tab and click to "reject" profile updates, so any line item edits you made during the linking are not reversed/overwritten by original input by constituent.  Then click process button on the first tab.
