Social Media Use with Online Express Email Marketing

Options
We have been desperately trying to use our email marketing material with our social media, especially Facebook, as our Facebook is what draws our donations to our webpage. How can we possibly use Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge Email Marketing if we have no way to add it to facebook? There needs to be a pdf created on the backend when we create & save, or send, the email. This should be a simple request and I don't understand why this function isn't already included. The suggestion of creating a seperate web page with the same material as in the email & then adding THAT to facebook is completely redundant and only accomplishes us doubling our work.

  • Have you tried sending yourself the email, then creating a PDF from your email? Or possibly taking a screenshot of the email to create an image you can share on Facebook?
  • Creating a sesparate web page, which you could link to on FB is a suggestion they are looking at

We need a few more people to +1 the idea to make it more important.
  • I can share the early thinking around a concept we have that we'd like to flush out in more detail. Please chime in if you have feedback (positive or negative). The concept is to provide you with an embeddable code snippet (similar to the OLX code you get for a donation or event form) that you'd place on a static page of your website. That code snipped would render "stories".

This code snippet / story viewer would work in conjunction with a new type of email content widget (maybe called the "Email Story Widget"?). When dragging this widget into an email, you would author your entire story in that widget, but you'd be able to have only a portion of the story render in the email and the recipient would see a Read More button at the end of each story in the email.

Clicking that button would direct readers to the above page on your site where they would see the full story (text and images) authored in the widget.

We're still kicking around ideas on how much functionality would be required on that page to make the feature valuable. For example, it could be interesting to let readers who land on that page from one story be able to browser other stories (maybe by date or category or other search/tagging mechanism).

I think the link Paul provided might not be to the right idea where this was suggested (please correct me if I'm wrong Paul). This is the suggestion I was thinking of: https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/356/17326?post_id=59084#p59084

I'll post this idea description to the above suggestion and would welcome all feedback. Thanks!
