Net Community and donation page

Options
ok, i have a probelm, we had our donation page thru NET Community and my Sr. Director is having people purchase alumni weekend tshirts through our donation page.  So now i am getting charges that show up throught NC and i am having to delete them bc they are not gifts.  WE are positng the money from the shirts to the expence account they were paid from.  my question is is there a way to set up a purchasing page along with our donation oage or does any one have any soluition for this.

  • We have run into a similar situation with event registrations for non-development events. We ended up asking the organizers to look into other options for running their events because it was way too much deleting and sorting of registrations that cluttered up the database and our processes. I wonder if there are other options for selling items, like Shopify?

In the least, you should definitely set up 2 different forms for donations and purchases so you can more easily distinguish which are true gifts or not.
  • i havent created new forms before how does it work??
  • If you have the Form Display part in your BBNC, and do not want these tshirt purchases flowing into RE, you can set up a Common Form with logic for size/amount of shirt selections with costs per, and have end users pay for merchandise in this manner. The email notification can be sent to you internally as well as outside fulfillment centers.

If you want the data to flow into RE, you can use a donation form with specific fund/appeal(s) to be able to see immediately in the plug-in if these are for tshirts or standard gifts before sending to batch. Then you can send all tshirts to separate batches from your gifts for processing accordingly.

Great suggestion.  And I do suggest bringing the data into RE if those shirt buyers have donor potential.  We use a campaign code specifically for non-gift income and then exclude that campaign from gift reports.
