Event form - RSVP not attending

I understanding that the Online Express event forms don't have a way for guests to RSVP that they are NOT attending. Has anyone come across this challenge and found a work around?

    One method I have used in the past is to make a zero price ticket labeled "Can't Attend"  -  - but that was with NetCommunity. I haven't tried that with OnLine Express.  

    The challenge then is to train people running event reports to exclude "attendees" who have a participation type related to the "Can't Attend" ticket.  It was not ideal - but it worked.
