Action Notes vs Proposal Notes

Where do you store Notes related to a Proposal and/or Actions?  We seem to have stored them both on the Action and on the Proposal themselves and now wish to be consistent.

  • We store them on the action and then link the proposal to the action. If everything is linked, it is very easy to go through and pass to the other tab
  • I record it as a proposal note it is something specific to the proposal that we might want to show in our query of proposals. It wouldn't hurt to double record it in both places if it is important information.
  • We use both.  If the information is related to that specific Action (text of an email, notes on a phone call, etc.) the Note goes on the Action record.  If the information is about the general Proposal (information about what we're asking for, etc.) then the Note goes on the Proposal record.
