Add fields to donation form

Is there a way to add fields in the personal/billing information section of a donation form? In particular, we need to add fields for Spouse (first & last name) near the standard first & last name fields.

    I spoke to a co-worker in the Membership dept. She knows more about Raiser's Edge than me; she had this to say:



    "I took a look at this suggestion from the knowledgebase to work around the absence of a spouse field on the donation form. The suggestion was to create a new attribute to have that field display on the form and to capture the corresponding information in the import. However, this solution would not help us match up records for spouses/partners who have different last names. Importing the spouse name as an attribute doesn’t really make sense to me. Since we would still have to hand check each gift against existing records for a spouse/partner match, why not just manually paste over the spouse name onto the existing record when we’re committing the gifts?"



    So, my question is the same. How do we get Spouse relationship fields on a donation form?

    The way to add fields to this form is always gift attributes. If you're looking for something that's not a gift attribute that would make a great idea, and I encourage you to make an idea thread about it :)

    I agree that spouse info wold be very helpful. I often see people put "John & Mary" in the first name field, so they are obviously trying to give me the info. I agree with Alexander.
