In my newsletter in NetCommunity my images and text align perfectly, but when I send a test email the images and text are no longer aligned. Why is this?

  • Hey Julie,

When we view web pages using different browsers the pages sometimes look a bit different.

Emails work the same way. For example when we view an email in outlook it will look different than it does in gmail.

This means the fix for this is coding the HTML as well as you can so that it looks consistent across different email clients. I recommend learning how to code tables as nested tables are the best way to code emails.

If you've got something more specific feel free to respond. This is just the answer to your "Why is this?"

    Thanks!

    Karen
  • I have issues with more than just alignment. The colors are different, the fonts are different it actually looks terrible in both test emails one in outlook and one in yahoo mail.

I am not very html savvy, but know a little and reviews the code and tried to take out the garbage and it still isn't helping.
  • Renee,

Something I noticed since the last BBNC release is how the email editor and general editor have been worse with copying and pasting from any other source, including Notepad. If you can strip out all the funky code to begin with and then deal with all the issues after, it helps.

I do agree that sometimes even having someone who knows a little code and how to create emails isn't enough with this email editor.
