Troubles with IE10 and 6.53

Options
My computer auto updates IE and IE10 has had all sorts of issues, but now since we have upgraded to 6.53 I can edit content, but most other items give me troubles with a runtime error. For example, I cannot edit any common forms in IE10, but can in IE9 and below as well as firefox and chrome.

  • Hey Jennifer,

That symptom sounds like we need to clear the browser cashe in IE10 on your computer.

    Thanks!

  • Karen -

I did do that and will try again, but I've been having a lot of issues with IE10 before the 6.53 upgrade with frequent crashes.

  • You can often switch IE to compatibility mode (with the broken paper icon in the address bar if it appears) or you can use the developer tools to switch IE to IE7,8 or 9 mode.

See instructions here for switching IE mode: http://techathlon.com/internet-explor... for example.... The later of these is a one off really but at least should get things working for those odd occasions.

Otherwise install Chrome and be done with issues!

    funny!
  • We've had several non-employees who are attempting to register in BBNC release 6.53 report problems of advancing from the first screen to the second. We haven't been able to trouble-shoot with all of them, but of those we've spoken to, we've identified that they are using IE10. Clearing cache did not cure the problem. What has solved the problem is selecting compatibility view and adding our primary website address to the compatibility view settings.
  • Hey Carla,

This is a .NET bug. You'll want to patch NetCommunity up to the latest, and install this Microsoft patch http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2600217
