Unable to edit unformatted text part containing embedded YouTube video within template

Options
I created a web part containing an embedded YouTube video. It works fine.

The problem is, in the editor, the embedded video is "live", and it covers up the menu box in the upper left-hand corner where I can insert additional parts move parts up and down, etc.

  • I've encountered this before as well. If you navigate to the page using the Site Explorer, you'll see a section that includes all of the parts on that page. From that menu you can click the "scissors" icon to cut the part. Then after you move everything else around you can reinsert this part where you'd like it to be.
  • Yes. That worked. Thank you very much!

  • I do think it's sort-of a bug, however. The menu toggle should be displayed in front of embedded content. Even when I click the menu toggle above the embedded video, I can only see/select the top three rows, and the rest are inaccessible, hidden by the embedded video.

I totally agree, but in my experience waiting for this sort of bug to be fixed is futile!
  • We see the same thing and also use site explorer to cut or edit it.
