How can I set up an "event" in RE without ticket amounts--just the general contribution option?

Hi, I'm a newbie to RE and setting up donation forms. I was told to use events under records so that I could use online express. But I only see "events" where there is a ticket price and quantity. Can I use it for donations and leave the amount open? Thanks!

    Hi Marc - can you tell me a little more about what you are hoping to accomplish on the web side of things? If you would like people to be able to specify any gift amount then enter their billing info, it sounds like a donation form may be a better fit.

    I guess that's it. I am new and saw that I needed to create an "event" in order to create a donation form. If there is another way, please point me in the right direction. Thanks

    Hi Marc - if you simply want to create a donation form, you certainly do not need to create an event in RE. In Online Express, click the "Donations" button in the top left, then select the "Create a form" button to get started with the donation form setup process.

    We just started using Online Express in the past couple weeks.  We have quite a few locations that will be having events and I would like to create an event form so that it is simpler to process the gifts similar to the transaction processing we have been using in Net Communities (linking) versus having to do an import into RE for the gifts.  There are not suggested amounts for these events, so would like to leave it open for the donors to choose.  It is also important that we can track the donations by event.   Any suggestions?
