I am having an event to which we are giving away free tickets.


We would like to give our guests the opportunity to a) purchase additional tickets above their complimentary tickets and b) to make an optional additional donation to the organization.


1) Is there any way I get around a $0 gift (free tickets)


2) How can I let them purchase tickets AND/OR make a donation separately without them having to give their billing details twice?


3) Is there a way to ask additional questions?

    Hi Shauna. One idea could be to create your free price type, and limit the quantity to one. Then include the paid price types at whatever rate is necessary.



    You can also include the additional donation option in the form setup to collect additional gifts.



    Finally, you can include any event participant attributes like t-shirt size or meal preference.

    Sure thing. For the price setup, it could look something like this. I don't know the specifics of your event, but for example:







    As for the additional donation, check the third "Extras" step and you will find an option to allow registrants to make additional donations.

    Ah, yes that is exactly what I'm talking about. You may be able to get creative with some donation price types to accomplish what you are looking for, but obviously the donation form is not designed to register folks for events.

    I understand and will have to work with what I have. But is there a way to be able to purchase multiple things on a regular donation form? (e.g. 1 ticket + additional donation of 'other')

    You can have a $0 gift on a donation form, unfortunately. There have been a few times we've thought to do the same. We end up using the registration event form instead.



    Could you do a gift attribute for this form?


    "I would like to request my one complimentary ticket"? That would be only available with an additional donation and/or 'purchase'. It still wouldn't be an option to have them only register for the free ticket though...

    Ya...that's what I was thinking too.


    Every time I think I've come up with a brilliant solution I run into another stumbling block!



    I think I will need to have a different form for each of my groups of people (1. Attendees 2. Additional Tickets 3. Donations).



    If anyone has another suggestion, I welcome your input!
