Inputting Program Credits to RE - notes or somewhere else?

Hi, we currently input programme credits under notes for each constituent who donotes money and want to have a credit in our programme.

However, we now want to have an expiry date on these credits for 1 year/2 years etc so we can run a query etc against these. However in notes there is only a date field. So i'm thinking we should probably be putting these somewhere else possibly? I'm wondering if anyone else does this sort of thing and how they do it? I really dont like using notes for this as its difficult to query against etc

We have an addressee type of how they want to be acknowledges and run our lists based on gift date. It seems like that would be much more accurate. Too easy to forget to put the note in.

Ah yes i can see how this would also work, although we really need it to link in with a date expiry or something similar so we can run searches based on that

I agree with Karen, using the gift date and pulling your queries for lists based on a date window would be the most accurate.

We pull lists for an annual publication and that is how I have done it for years. Lists pulled by date and program (giving preference/interest)
