Database Adminsitrator - Raiser's Edge

Internationally-known not-for-profit advocating for science, reason, and secular values is looking for a database administrator to complete database conversion project and then maintain and update system following. We are using the Blackbaud software suite including the Raiser's Edge, Net Community Spark, and Convio Luminate. Position is based in Amherst, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, NY.

Incumbent will work primarily with the development staff. De-duping and preparing for the final phases of the conversion are the initial focus; assisting with the creation of policies, procedures and workflows will also be necessary. The incumbent will also train staff to these systems.



Essential Job Tasks and Activities:


* Administer and maintain security and integrity of the Raiser's Edge and related databases while working collaboratively with the staff.

* Point person for all database-related issues with local and remote staff, volunteers, and donors in addition to support staff at Blackbaud.

* Ability to work independently.

* Assist with the creation and implementation of data policies as the systems evolve.

* Customer service focus



Desired Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

* A minimum of three (3) years of experience in database management in a nonprofit environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

* Computer skills: Highly proficient with personal computers, various software and database software, knowledge of the principles of database management and business processes

* Presentation/Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide training in one-on-one, small groups, and online environments for staff with various levels of computer proficiency.

* Experience with Blackbaud products (Raiser's Edge) and Convio Luminate.
