Event Management Permissions - edit the Greeting Page

Options
Is there a setting to allow an event manager access to update the greeting page?  I'd like to allow a manager to update the landing page and that page only.  Is there a way to do that?

  • Not within Teamraiser as far as I know.

You could put the content in a resuable page, and give them rights to edit that. If you set it up with Security Classes you could even make it so they could only edit reusable pages in the classes they have access to.

  • Hi

I think we could. On our events, we let those event managers edit the greeting page (pg=entry) of their events through the EMC (event manager center). There is a role that could be build and permission assigned to each role specifically including editing event pages alongside the custom pages.

Anything else that we don't want event managers to touch, we 'locked' (by clicking the associated padlock) at the blueprint level, so that it won't appear as option within the EMC.

The only thing that I am missing is how to create the "Role" associated with these event manager in first place, but once the role is created, one could customize the permission assigned to them to custom tailor it further to that individual.

    Daniel

    ADD ON EDIT:

Here you go to answer the missing piece on how to create a new role for those event management specifics

To create a new event manager role
    1.     From the top of any Administrator page, click Fundraising > TeamRaiser.
    2.     From the tabs along the top of the TeamRaisers list page, click the Event Management Settings tab.
    3.     On the Event Management Center Settings page, click the Event Roles tab.
    4.     On the Event Roles list page, click Create a New Role.
    5.     On the Identify Role page:
      1. For Name, enter a unique name that helps identify the purpose of this role when it displays in lists on the administrator interface pages.
      2. For Description, enter a statement that describes the permissions and purpose of this role.
      3. For Editable Role, click the checkbox to remove the checkmark if other administrators cannot edit this role.
    6.         Click Next.
    7. On the Edit Event Configuration Permissions page, click the appropriate checkboxes to grant permissions to work with specific event information and then click Next.
    8. On the Edit Management Permissions page, click the appropriate checkboxes to grant permissions to work with specific event management tasks and then click Finish.
  • I think this may be what I need.  I'm just waiting for my TR blueprint changes to be pushed  (I created the blueprint but didn't lock all of those pages :$)

Were the event managers able to access the html editor for the entry page?  The best documentation I've found so far is https://www.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/luminate-online/help/luminateonline.html#../Subsystems/TeamRaiser/Content/Concepts/Admin_TeamRaiser_Administration.html?s_site=srhcf&s_locale=en_CA

do you have a link to better documentation?  :)  Not that this isn't great but sometimes the picture it paints isn't enough!

    Thanks,

    ali

  • Locking them on the blueprint is fine, but I think that will mean that *no one* can edit those pages - not just the event manager. They will be exactly the same as the content in the blueprint.

  • I've added a new header in EMC and it displays perfectly on preview. After appying the header to a Teamraiser type, it still renders properly on preview.  When I go to the Event Mangement site, the old header continues to display.  Anyone else come across this problem?

I experience this in Chrome sometimes. Try clearing your cache.

We've experienced this when a security category already has an EMC header associated with it and changes. If you need the new one to show up immediately you can contact support to have it refreshed if it doesn't update in a day or so, I believe. We have a weekly call with Services and our lead would do that for us when this happened.

  • There's a lot of markup on our event pages so we let event managers edit the event page through the emc by using the "event page properties" fields. Basically, using the sponsor_1, sponsor_2, etc fields (or any fields you don't use) we have conditional in the greeting/entry page so if the event manager has content in those fields they will show up on the event page.

    Example:

    [[?xx::x[[C1:sponsor_2]]x::::<p>[[C1:sponsor_2]]</p>]]

    [[?xx::x[[C1:sponsor_3]]x::::<p>[[C1:sponsor_3]]</p>]]

For event managers to add or modify the image, we reference a reusable pagebuilder and using the S416 tag checking for if they have a sponsor image added it'll show their image, otherwise it'll be our default.

Basically, we had to work around letting event managers edit the event page because our event managers don't know html and let's just say we didn't want their creativity to affect the usability of our greeting page for our events with the wysiwyg. So it's limited but still lets them add information as needed.

How/where in CLO did you add the new header?  We were interested in doing this but didn't know you could!

    Thanks,

  • It should be within the "Event Management Settings" page that you could access by clicking on the tab named as that.

From the main nav bar of your Convio administration

Fundraising > TeamRaiser > "Event Management Settings" (3rd tab) > Manage headers
