Event Management App for Raiser's Edge

Has anyone had experience using the Event Management App for Raiser's Edge? We are considering using it but have had issues during beta testing. The app times out too frequently. This is not a problem during a small event but would pose a greater one during a larger event causing delays during check-in. Is there a work-around for this?
