Update Tax Claim Eligibility Status

Options

I believe that 'Tax Claim Eligible' status is worked out depending on if a constituent has a valid declaration and if the gift concerned has the Gift Aid Qualification Status of 'Qualified for Gift Aid'. For example, if at the point of saving a gift which is 'Qualified for Gift Aid', a constituent has a valid declaration then the  'Tax Claim Eligible' status will show 'Gift is eligible for tax claim'. If however, a declaration is added to a constituent's record after the gift record is added, I do not think that 'Tax Claim Eligible' status automatically updates.

Is that correct?

Hi Sam, That all sounds correct - it's a combination of the donor having a valid declaration and the donation having campaign/fund that meets the eligibility rules that are set up in your business rules. If you add the gift first and then add a declaration afterwards then I think it will remain as not qualified. However, if the declaration is valid from before the gift date then when you next do a gift aid claim you can 'update eligibility of all unclaimed gifts before generating report' in the R68 report. Alternatively you can go into business rules and do it from there without having to run an R68 report. Hope that helps? Thank Lee
