Mercy Housing, Inc Seeking Raiser's Edge Database Administrator

 Mercy Housing is seeking a Raiser's Edge Database Administrator in it's national headquarter office in Denver, CO.


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:         Administer the data entry and maintain the integrity of the Mercy Housing Philanthropy database for gift processing. Generate timely, accurate donor acknowledgements and resource development reports, including correspondence with Accounting Department. Provide support to the Philanthropy Division as requested.

 

I.     QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:     Bachelor's degree in business, administration, marketing, communications, non-profit management, or related field strongly preferred.

                      

Experience:   Minimum of two (2) years in data collection, and meeting reporting requirements for various external parties. Familiarity with nonprofit environment preferred.

                      

Abilities:       

1.        Experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising database.

2.      Organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

3.       Demonstrate problem-solving, organizational skills and prioritize work by tracking and meet deadlines effectively.

4.     Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.

5.     Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as internet research.

6.     Interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people.

7.      Flexible, accurate, and responsive to staff inquiries/requests. Understand and implement directives from senior management and others.

8.     Treat a variety of people with respect and compassion.

9.     Represent Mercy Housing in a professional manner at all times.

10.   Understand and support the mission and values of Mercy Housing.

 


II.    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL (Explain the 10 essentials function duties regarding for this position.)

 

  1. Enter Mercy Housing gift and donor information into Raiser's Edge database in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
  2. Process, track and record event registrations, gifts, grants and pledges; and process donor fulfillment packages as directed such as gift acknowledgements, new donor packets, tribute cards, pledge statements and reminders, etc. Create queries and produce scheduled reports in Raiser's Edge in a timely manner.
  3. Participate in developing documentation for database policies, procedures, processes and business rules; update Raiser's Edge Wiki as needed. Document, train and monitor compliance with Raiser's Edge policies and procedures. Manage database user access and security controls.
  4. Process prompt and accurate workplace giving campaign applications for Mercy Housing, Inc. federal and local memberships through Independent Charities of America federation or other agencies.
  5. Work with local and remote colleagues in respective fundraising departments to provide database services, using clear communication to ensure deadlines are met and tasks are completed as necessary. 
  6. Monitor federation website for reports, updates, action items, schedules and requirements.
  7. Provide general administrative support for Resource Development activities and projects as directed.
  8. Provide excellent customer services to donors and staff; provide research on gift records and maintenance of donor information as needed.
  9. Liaise with database vendor to manage contract services and technical issues; work with vendor and IT to troubleshoot and improve service to the Geographic Business Center staff.
  10. Provide accounting staff with information as needed for monthly close of business and reconciliation of Raisers Edge with accounting data base.
  11. Produce custom and routine fundraising reports, statistics, and revenue projections. 
  12. Prepare, maintain and distribute reports related to the Raiser's Edge database. 

B.  AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) REQUIREMENTS

 

Physical:        Occasionally required to push/pull object less than 30 pounds, walk, climb stairs and enter/exit buildings that are under construction, occasionally, without normal ingress/egress available.

 

Sensory:        Frequently required to read fine print on documents.  Able to speak clearly and make self understood, while also understanding others using the English language.

 

Cognitive:      Continuously able to understand and relate to concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks/assignments given to others over a period of days.  Able to concentrate on moderate detail in both office and field with moderate interruption. Able to attend task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time.

 

Equipment:    Ability to properly operate computers, fax, telephone.
