Customized 3 part receipt form

We wanted to add the gift reference line to the preprinted receipts and it is not available. Has anyone figured out a way to export and merge the data into the preprinted from?

     Louise,

If you choose Receipt type > Create Custom Data File you have so many more fields available including Reference.  You just need to do the initial formatting for the merge doc yourself.  Once you have it formatted, shouldn't be a problem.

When using the "Custom data file" option for receipts, is there a way to still print 3 receipts per page? Thanks!

You should be able to do it.  It will just require some work to format/set up your merge doc.  Essentially you need to position your text/fields 3 times on the page.  I know I read a post some time ago where someone suggested locking the position of the fields so they don't move - I haven't tried that yet. :0

To do this you need to use the label or catalog type of merge. You then use the code when you want it to start printing data from the next record. If you have never done this before it could take some trial and error. Melissa

Yes, we do this for all our receipts. The paper is preprinted with all the non-changing data, so I am only adding the variable data. What I did in my mail merge was created a table in the word document so that all the fields were in the right positions, and then edited the table so that the borders were invisible so you can't see the table itself, but all the fields remain in position. There may be an easier way, but this worked for me! It was trial and error to get the positions exactly right - but now it's easy to run. :)
