Soft Credit within Donation Batch

Options
I have asked that all my colleagues use Donation Batch in relation to In memory/Funeral donations. The main query from all staff has been that to Soft Credit - it is an action that has to be repeated line by line of within the spreadsheet. I realise there is the ability to link the donations to the Tribute which saves time, but it would be far easier if we were able to set the Soft Credit too in this way. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

How are you using soft credits? It sounds like you are soft-crediting the family or the deceased person for all memorial gifts. What is your reason for doing this?

We don't have the tribute module (if we had it, I think that is all I would use for noting who gave in memory of someone). Instead, I use mark the person being remembered as the "solicitor" for all the donations (which can be preset for a batch) and enter the name of the deceased in the Reference field.

Question similar to Helen's, who are you soft-crediting and why?
