NetCommunity gift disappeared

Has anyone posted a gift from BBNC only to have it disappear from the constituent's record at some later point? We found it within a month because of reconciliation, and our gift entry person had the batch to prove it's existence and to recreate the gift on the record.

Other than a strange blip during backup, I can't come up with a possible reason. Any ideas are welcome!

This happened in our office once. Our data entry person thought the batch was posted and it was not. When the batch was sent to be committed there were exceptions that were ignored. I wish that were the case here. There were other gifts on the batch and they were on the appropriate records, plus they had acknowledgement letters. It's got to be some bizarre computer thing (that's a technical description!) that won't ever happen again. Like getting struck by lightening!

I apologize for the delay but I consulted my resources and we would have to create a case to have a Support Analyst look into the reason a gift would disappear but since there's not audit trail, they might not be able to prove what happened to the gift. You could restore standalone backups at different intervals from when the gift was originally committed up until now to see when the gift did go missing but it won't give you any insight on exactly what happened during that time. This may or may not be helpful for your organization.

You're welcome! Sorry for the delay but in some systems, there is an audit trail that shows you who did what and when in a system or software. Right now, we don't have this available for this product.
