Appeals/Packages

Options

Hi.  I am new to my position and now have the task of creating packages for our upcoming golf event sans the event module--this was suggested to me as a possible solution.  If golf 2014 is appeal -- would it be wise to setup packages for my different sponsorship levels, dinner reservations, golfers, foursomes, etc.?  Would I be able to query off the package to see what were the popular sponsorships?  Any suggestions would be really appreciated?

Thanks.

    Thanks.

We use packages with our event appeals. Reporting on the packages has to be done through exports, reports, and summaries. Queries don't work for retrieving information about packages.

Check out the report: Analytical Reports/Appeals Analysis. Choose the type "Summary" and under Tab 5 go to "Details" and check "Include Package Information." You can then click "Layout" to preview what kind of reporting you could do with packages. [Note: this report is currently being reviewed by Blackbaud. The columns don't add properly, so for now just put all the gifts in column 1 or ignore the Over/Under column and do the math yourself.]

One suggestion with packages: if you do use them, I've found it's easiest for reporting to have packages for ALL the gifts in an appeal, not just some of them. Even if you create a package called "General Donation" and use it for the gifts that don't fit the other packages, it will make reporting smoother.
