inactive proposals to be excluded in report

Options

I need to build a report on all assigned prospects and include their active proposals (if any) and target gift range.  Am I correct to say that I need to build sub reports for the target gift range since it's the only rating that I want (and cannot export just that rating) and a sub report to pull only the active proposals?  Thanks!

Yes, a subreport is the easiest way to get the rating you're looking for. You could also do it via a variable, I believe, but a subreport on the ratings with a selection formula to only pull the ones you want is easiest.

As far as active proposals, if you set your selection formula on the main report with Inactive = False, I don't think you'll need to put them in a subreport. Depending on what else is going on in your report, you might want to, but I don't think you'll have to.

Thank you!  When I make the formula on the mail report Inactive = False, I lose everyone that doesn't have a proposal.  In the future, that might not be an issue, but for now, it is.

Yeah, I was in kind of a hurry when I wrote that -- that's what I meant by 'depending on what else is going on in your report'. If you were only looking to show people who had active proposals, that would work fine. But if you want to show everyone whether they have active proposals or not, but only show their active proposals, a subreport is the cleanest way to do it.
