Emailing Organizations with No Known Contacts

Options
We have a lot of emails for organizations, typically small companies who we feel are valid solicitees, for which we have no individual relationships. I would like to export those emails with the salutation "Friends" instead of just the name of the organization. Any suggestions on the best way to do that? Thanks!

I suppose you could put a dummy contact in and use that as the salutation.  I've used a workaround similar to this when doing letters for orgs that we have no contact for.

I'm not sure how you're running emails.  I don't think BBNC will mail to orgs - but if you made the contact an individual record it could work, but then you'd have a dummy record in your database.

I have always made it a practice to have every Organization record have at least one individual contact.

If we do not have an individual contact that we work with or do not know of one, the default is to add an individual relationship.  The name is Friend and I have set up Friend or Friends if you like, in the Configuration of Addressees/Salutations so that it can be added to that individual record.  I use the Friend A/S in the Addressee and Salutation fields so that no matter what you are pulling it populates.  Works great.  :-)

P.S.  If you have your Title as a required field, you can do what I did which is just make a Title that is a "."  (period) and then you can work around the required field that you do want populated on every other record.  I also use that period on records that have an unknown gender (if gender is important to your database and community).
