do you record gift when you don't know who donor is?

We received a gift in kind but do not know who the donor is.  How do you handle this in RE?

     We have a record named "Anonymous" for things like that.

    Same here! We also try to put as much detail on the gift in notes/etc as possible for future reference.

    We have a record called "unknown donor" and we record this type of thing under this record.  We chose this name to avoid any possible confusion with 'anonymous' gifts.

    I also use Unknown Donor and not Anonymous to avoid confusion.

    I've seen the same as everyone else, but because the person who set up our database had a good sense of humor, all of those donations were credited to "The (first name) Mystery Donors (last name)," who lived at 11 Mysterious Lane. But be sure to check the "has no valid address" box!
