Honor/Memorial Acknowledgement Envelopes

Options

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions concering thr printing of honor/memorial tribute envelopes. We have the tribute module and currently use the Honor/Memorial Acknowledgement portion of Mail to send letters to acknowledgees for gifts given in memory/honor of a loved oned.  I am not able or have yet to figure out how to create a mail item to print the envelopes for these letters.  So does anyone have any thoughts on this other than an export query to create an additional mail merge or printing each envelope from the exported mail merge letters?

I feel like someone has posted about this before.  I hate it and haven't found a good workaround.  I've tried some of the other mail functions, but you're printing for relationships not constituents and it can be messy.  I even once tried to make the envelope a part of the letter merge, which I think could work if only I could have made my printer cooperate.  Otherwise, I just use the print envelope function in Word for each letter.

We use one merge for envelopes and letters thru H/M Acknowledgee mail.  Format two pages, one for the envelope and one for the letter.  Set each page to print from different printer trays.  It did take some time to make it work and printing is a little slower, however, our gift entry person prefers it.  In the past we merged each one separately.

    Hi Dodie,

You can merge your envelopes at the same time that you merge your Honor/Memorial Acknowledgement letters, by creating your envelopes in the Mailings tab within the word document in the Word Merge Wizard. The steps are listed below. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

    1. Go to Mail, Honor/Memorial Acknowledgment Letters, open your existing letter or select New.

    2. On the General Tab, if applicable, click Include, choose selected and browse to and select a query.

    3. On the toolbar, select Send to Mail Merge Wizard and then select Next.

    4. Select Perform a simple mail merge using only one document.

    5. Click Create merge document.

    6. Within the word document, select Add-Ins tab to Insert The Raiser's Edge fields and create the letter.

    7. Highlight the fields to be included in the envelopes and right-click to select Copy.

    8. Within the word document, select the Mailings tab and click Envelopes.

    9. Right-click and select Paste in order to paste merge fields into the envelopes.

    10. If desired, enter the return address.

    11. Click Add to Document.

    12. Finish formatting the letters and envelopes.

    13. Click Save and Return to RE7.

    14. Select Finish to complete the merge.

    15. In order to print all letters or all envelopes first, print odd pages only (for envelopes) and then even pages only (for letters)
