fund export doesn't have gift summary fields

Options

The fund export doesn't have the same summary fields as the fund query.  A fund query has average, mode, median, number of gifts, etc. in the summary section, but the fund export only has relationships in the summary.  Why don't the two correspond?  More importantly, does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks for your help.

Don't know why the same fields are not available.  Pretty sure it's been suggested in idea/discovery suggestions; you may want to vote your support of that change.

Only work around I can think of would be to export info to excel and find your average/mode/median/# there using excel functions.  Doesn't help if you're exporting to some other format.

Do you need to do a 'fund' export to get info you need?  Are the fields avaiable in any other type of export?

Good luck - sorry not much help on this one.

    Thanks for replying.

I've thought of exporting directly from the query.  Since it's a fund query, I'm having a hard time thinking of how the data could be less than accurate if I exported directly.  What would your opinion be?  My coworker doesn't want to have to use the excel functions for every column/row that could be exported--I don't blame her!

The only time that exporting from query has been an issue for me is when due to the one-to-many fields there are duplicate records

Thanks so much for the input!

  • I was able to successfully export an mdb file from the query. It worked in Crystal like a charm. But, when you go to update with a new file, Crystal doesn't recognize the fields.

I'm so bummed about this. I thought I have found a solution, but I guess not!
