Create an action, appeal, attribute or event for Email reports

Options

I use MailChimp to send emails to donors - no, we can't use Chimpegration since we are hosted :(

Recently, I sent out an email to the year's donors just saying Thank You. I exported their Const ID, Name, and Email address. I would like to do an import of the results - who I sent the email to and who actually opened the email.

I'm wondering if it would be most efficient to create an action, attribute, appeal, or event. Are there any methods out there that you have found to be effective in tracking this information?

 Thanks!

If there was a "Donate" link included in the email (even though it was just to say Thank You) I would record it under Appeal, especially if the donate link goes to a specific donation page used just for that email.  That way you can track that the donation was a result of the email.

    Otherwise I would use Actions.

Good thoughts. There was a Donate link but it was at the bottom mixed in with About Us, News, Events, etc. and not the main focus. It was a small mailing and did not receive any donations through the email directly. Maybe I can create an Action then an Attribute inside of it to keep track of Opens Vs. No Opens and then any other "Clicks" from the email.

All the fun queries I get to run and before that trying to remember how deep I logged the information. haha!

     Thanks.
