Honor/Memorial Acknowledgement Letter

Options

Hello,

I am trying to teach myself how to use the mail merge in Raiser's Edge. Let's say I want to send a letter to a family member listing the names and addressess of those who gave in memory of a loved one.

I figured out how to put the Rasier's Edge fields in me word document, but cannot figure out how to get multiple donors on the same letter. Right now, its generating a new letter to the same person, with each letter having only one donor's name and contact info. I hope that makes sense. So instead of sending the Memorial letter ten times to the same loved one, I would like one letter to generate ALL of the people who donated in memory of the deceased during a certain time period.

We don't have the tribute module, which it looks like you do so don't know what your option would be within that module.

When I need to send the list you describe, I either run a report like cash receipts journal listing donors to that fund, export, remove $ info and include as attachment.  Have also used a query of gifts to the memorial, exported it and then just pasted data into letter.

Just a work around I've used...

Currently we do all of our tribute cards manually and most often have only one contributor per card. Previously, at a different organization I have dealt with what you have. I would consider not merging them but instead sending the "honor/memorial contributors list" in the tribute reports section and attaching it to your letter. It will make your process so much easier.

If you have the Tribute module and you're using Honor/Memorial Acknowledgement letters, I recommend the steps in Knowledgebase solution BB486956. You can export multiple gifts per tribute that way. I hope that helps!
