Daily Gift Reporting

Options

Is anyone willing to describe what they share with development/major gift officers as a gift report?

Our DOs want to see what gifts are coming on, for obvious reasons, on a very regular basis. We are currently running a daily gift report using query (because of some specific fields our DOs want displayed) but it's a cumbersome process and often takes me an hour or more each day because of the processing and duplication that occurs. Since running the daily gift report is nowhere near 1/8 of my job description, I'm curious what others are doing.

I've heard of some organizations who simply share the batch reports. Any other options?

We have a custom Crystal Report set up that gets emailed out to all staff every morning using Queue.  The report includes all gifts entered "yesterday."

We use the Gift Entry Validation report as our daily gift report. It has a lot of optional info you can include or not include. We still wish it would include address but alas - no.

    HI,

Can you tell me if you are using the email function (SMTP) to send the report via a scheduled queue?

Yes, I believe that is what we are using.

Why not just have them all look at a Dashboard that shows most recent gifts?  If they want more detail they can click directly to the record from the Dashboard.

I suggested the dashboard as well but some wants something where they don't need to log in.

Our exec wants info also, but doesn't seem to want to go to RE.  So, I just send PDF email of the Batch Commit Control Report when I generate it for my records.  Has worked well for us.

Be careful with Dashboard. It doesn't include original stock gifts at all only "sold" stock gifts.
