How to opt-out those who have already donated through our end-of-year campaign in succeeding emails.

Hello, I'm new to managing our Luminate database this year for our End of Year campain. I need to know how to exclude those who already gave in our campaign on the succeeding emails, or is this automatically input into the campaign. Am I able to include everyone in a final thank-you email as a part of our campaign as well?

    The easiest way to do this is to make sure there is a group tied to your EOY Campaign that automatically adds anyone who donates to the campaign to the group. Then add that group to the Opt-Out list of any messages going out asking for solicitations. You can also add that group as a Target group to any emails thanking those who have contributed (and maybe asking them to encourage their friends/family to donate).

     

    There are some great videos in the LearnCenter on how to set up a Donation Campaign (and include those who donate in a group) and how to add groups to the target and do not email lists for an email.

    Do you truly mean only those who gave to a particular campaign - or anyone who gave at all? The group tied to the campaign is great but we prefer to use a more broad query of anyone who made a gift after 11/15. In fact - we use a query from our offline system (Raiser's Edge) which is linked to Convio and puts them into this suppression group whether they made an online or offline gift.

     

    No - it is not automatically done. You would need to define the inclusion and suppression groups for each of your emails. CLO does not know when you want to ask and when you want to thank so it would never decide your groups for you.
