Is using a reusable item for my autoresponder a bad idea?

Options

I have set up my autoresponders so they are pulling in a reusable item for the content area. Within that reusable item, are some s tags that are meant to change dynamically depedning on which event it is. I also have some s tags in the stationary.

It seems that, if someone registers on the front end through the webite, the autoresponder comes through fine, all the fields are populated. However, when I register someone through the backend, some of the fields don't populate and some links that are using S80:trID are not rendering the teamraiser ID. Further to that, I did a Registration Upload and the autoresponder that went out for that registration had none of the fields populated (except S1 tags)

I'm pretty stumped as to why it works when the registration is user-initiated but not when it is done from an admin side.

here is an example of the code for the email.

  • We just started doing the same thing. We solved the part where the autoresponder can't get the fr_id this way. (I haven't noticed the admin side issue, I'll have to test that one.)

    The html content in the TeamRaiser autoresponder:

    ]

    ]

    This sticks the teamraiser ID into a session variable called 'myid' and then loads the 'TR_Standard_Thank_You_For_Forming_Team' reusable pagebuilder page.

    Then in the reuable page, we do this:

    <p>Go to your <a href="http://]/site/TRC/General?pg=center&fr_id=]">participant center</a>.</p>

    Regards, Brian

    I wonder why ] works reliably for you at all. We kept seeing it not render while testing the new setup, though I don't remember the exact circumstances.

    Thanks Brian. I could see that being a solution. The only problem from my end is that we have the autoresponder setup in the blueprint and locked and then created about 160 events. I'm guessing for this to work, I would need to set the myid in each event manually.
