Restrict Participation Type by Team?

I'm setting up a TR in which we register the team captains, and then their friends can join their teams (as the only participation method - they can neither register as individuals nor form their own teams). I want to have two types of participants - "RSVP" and "ticketed" - where the latter have a registration fee and the former either have no fee or get a discount (associated with their participation type). However, each team should only allow ONE of these participation types - so that, depending on the team, the team members either have to pay or don't (for the curious, the team captains are paying the fee for members of the "free" teams). Is there any way to restrict participation type on a team-by-team basis, so that the team members only see one or the other type depending on the setting?

    I'm sending this around and trying to get some feedback or possible solution for a way to force the participant to inherit the participation type of the team captain. I'll pass along what I can find out.

    We wanted to do something similar, having participation types specific for a few teams.  I put in a request, and they came back with adding the following to the HTML on either the company page or the team page I wanted to force the following code

     

    [[U0:smileytongue:romoCode=abcdefg]]

     

    Obviously replace abcdefg with what you want it to be.

     

    The downside is it only works if the people access through the team or company page that has that code on it, but that did not seem to be much of an issue for people, and it's a manual process, you will need to go into each team to set it. 

     

    But it does work.

    I am wondering how you were able to affect the join team link that is also automatically sent by a participant via the participant centre? Is this also possible to change?
