If a participant uploads a CSV into PC2, will duplicate emails automatically be filtered out?

Does anyone have some insight into the duplicates process for PC2?

If someone uploads a record with the same email as an existing email then the system will not create a duplicate. If this is happening you should contact Support and ask them to check into it.

    Hey Kent,

I ended up doing some research and I'll post it here for anyone who may stumble across this:

    ------------------------------

I just ran a test where I uploaded some obvious dupes, potential dupes, and a few new email addresses from a CSV into my PC2.

Of the 5 email addresses uploaded, I got a screen telling me that 2 contacts were saved, including only one that was new (Jamison). Kristi’s record was already in my addresses, but the first, last, and email matched the existing record exactly. This did NOT create a duplicate record for Kristi. The system also gave me 3 possible duplicate contacts. DO NOT CLICK FINISH YET! You can click the link to the number 3 in Possible Dupes or you can click the Possible Duplicates Link in blue underneayth the Successful section. (see next screen shot)

In the Possible Dupes section, there are columns to show you the difference between what you loaded and the existing records. In my contacts list, Daniel is listed as Daniel_pers. Because I would rather it say Daniel, I clicked the Update link. I chose to click Ignore for the two other records, because I like how they are in the existing records.

I understand that this may be a bit of a cumbersome process for some, the they could very well click ignore ignore ignore!

I hope this helps answer and resolve some concerns raised that uploading the CSV will not automatically create duplicates and will give you the option to update or ignore.

Thanks a million for detailing the experience for this!!!! This may be something you could add to Ideas in your Support Portal to get improved.

    Thanks Katie!
